Monday is grocery day for me. I usually go in the afternoon, but today hubby had me go on in the morning "before the rain comes". The rain came earlier than expected. Not a big deal though since it's still hot here in October.
Speaking of unseasonable weather. As I went through the checkout, I had a pleasant conversation with the cashier. It started with her mentioning how much water she'd been drinking, then moved on to the strange weather which we Bible believing Christians, recognize as a sign of the times. I don't know what made her start this conversation with me. I didn't have on a Jesus shirt today.8-) Maybe she was just "fishing". Or maybe our spirits witnessed to each other, and she just knew we were sisters in Christ. I hope that's it. Who knows? I'm just glad we talked. We talked about Jesus and Heaven and scoffers (a Bible term ;-) who think we're crazy for believing all this. I realized in conversation how my life has changed. When my oldest boys were little, the topic upset me. I wanted my children to grow up and live. Now, I want Jesus to return so my little ones don't have to face what I know is to come as this world is evolving. As we talked, I wondered if there were any scoffers listening in on our conversation. I pray God will use her everyday as she rings up groceries. Sometimes we don't realize how important our calling is. Even a cashier can witness to others. For me, the tedious job of grocery shopping ended on a great note.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful (even if it's soggy), blessed day!
